Why did you chose to exhibit Claire Barrow?
After commissioning Barrow to paint a triptych on canvas last year and being very impressed by the results, it seemed like a solo exhibition would be a good idea.
Barrow is well known for her fashion design work. How do you think her art work influences her designs and vice versa?
Whether Barrow is painting a canvas or designing a dress, it is all her art work. It's all one and the same thing. For The Bed, The Bath & the Beyond, it was the first time clothes weren't in the equation and it worked really well.
Can you tell us a bit more about the theme of Bed, Bath and Beyond?
Barrow has spoken about her influences in interviews with Hero, Dazed i-D etc... as I understand it, it is about ritualistic behaviour, cleanliness verses godliness, death, baptism, rebirth and her own experience.
